Freedom isn’t free
About a month ago I tweeted:
“Weird how the worst news can make you feel so free.”
Now, the news I was refering too wasn’t “the worst” I’ve ever heard, but it shifted my little world a bit, to be honest. The saying is still evertrue and here’s why:
Picture yourself thinking yourself into anxiety. Questioning why everything turned out the way it did. Wondering what if just one little thing could’ve been different. Thinking how would you be able to live if things went a different way. And then you hear the world-shaking news. First you’re heartbroken, angry, even. Then you start to think about it: you just received every answer to the questions you were asking. When people or things or places are exposed of truth, you can understand the way your life had been going. You know the truth. And the truth shall set you free.
For in the midst of darkness, it’s extremely difficult to see the light. But once it is spotted, you almost forget what it was like to live in the dark for so long. You can breathe and smile without a worry. You can close your eyes and open them to new life. You can take in the world around you for the beauty that it is, instead of wondering.
In a way, I’m sorry if this is comforting to you. Truly. I don’t wish terrible news on anyone (whatever it is, whatever you’ve done). I’m sorry that you have been treated so poorly and need some encouragement to move past it. I’m sorry there is nothing you can do to solve anything.
But stand tall in your freedom and knowledge of the truth, move forward with what you learned, be proud of your amount of strength.
