You know those days (or weeks, or months) when you feel like you’re always drowning in your responsibilities, when you try to overcome one problem only to find that another one has developed. An endless cycle of stress.
These times are HARD. I’m not going to lie to you. I’m not going to try to tell you it gets better. I’m not going to promise you there will be an end to all of it. Because I don’t believe it helps the current situation(s).
You see, it has a scientific explanation: fight or flight. Our bodies display this the best. We either try to fight off a virus/bacteria/germ until they are gone or we give up and let them overtake us until we are sick. But this is beyond how our physical bodies function. Our mental “bodies” are just as important, if not more important to maintain.
When a problem arises in life and you try to tackle it, you solve it at the source, get through the day, feel accomplished and move on. Sounds like a good plan to begin with, flawless in every way, but when it comes time to act on it, it is harder than expected. You know what I’m talking out. You’ve been there before. There’s never only one thing in life that goes wrong. If you are alive at all, you probably have several places you need or want to be with different faces to see and things to do. Issues in life aren’t scheduled to our itinerary when it’s the most convenient for us; instead, they tend to come in floods.
So mentally, we try and try to fight and solve and push and persevere through the trials, when in reality we just want to fly away. Sometimes it does lead to just that. We flee. We leave it all behind or sacrifice whatever we need to inorder to just breathe another day.
I say all this because I want to encourage you and tell you that you are not alone. Nothing ever goes perfect for someone, exactly how they want it, when they want it, and to what extent they want it. We’re all trying to make it through life and sometimes some crazy conundrums occur. That’s just fact. You can’t prepare for it. You can’t explain it. You don’t wish upon it. But you have to deal with it, nonetheless.

I can say this:
Whatever you might be facing, it’ll make you stronger, wiser, tougher, and kinder.
Please don’t drown in life.
Keep your head above water.
Keep your eyes locked on the shore.
For one day, you wil be standing tall wondering why you even entered into deep waters.
